Questions tagged [shutdown]

For questions pertaining to shutting down the operating system.

Operating systems are always doing things, even when the computer system is "idle." It is imperative to always get the operating system to shut itself down before removing power, as this allows the operating system to complete whatever tasks it was doing, sync its files out of the cache and just return itself to a clean state.
