I was running Ubuntu 22.04 Server for Raspberry Pi. I just upgraded my release to Ubuntu 24.04 using the sudo do-release-upgrade command. Towards the end of the upgrade, I am getting the following errors:

Nothing seems to work. I don't know how to properly remove and/or install/reinstall plymouth, or get it to work with apt. With a google search, it looks like there are a few other incidents like this out there, but there is no solution.

How can I fix my installation so that plymouth is properly removed OR installed, and apt works again? How can I debug this and fix my Ubuntu 24.04 Server so that it's working fully again?
